Speaker Bio : BJ. Homayouni is a Professor at Concordia University, Wisconsin and the Executive Director of Festivals of Cedarburg, Inc., a nonprofit corporation located in downtown Cedarburg. Over that last 20 years, BJ. has driven the growth of Festivals from a $30,000 annual budget to a more than $500,000 tourism organization that holds several of the largest two-day events in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. These events attract approximately 200,000 attendees annually. Under her direction, Festivals was named “Business of the Year” in 2018 and she was awarded the “Ladies Who Lead” award in February 2019 by the Cedarburg Chamber of Commerce. She has a master’s in public communication from American University in Washington, D.C. and has been teaching undergraduate and master studies in Hospitality and Sports Event Management at Concordia since 2014. In 2020, during the peak of the COVID pandemic, her and her family opened a craft cocktail bar and restaurant in downtown Cedarburg and will be expanding in a few months. She has been married for 33 years to Payman, and has two grown children, Christopher and Madissen
